Our US Diploma Program provides the same level of academic standards which are required by regional accreditation bodies of public and private schools in the USA.
The course content of each subject can be tailored according to the specialization of the teacher, who is able to extend the learning environment to meet the needs of the students. Griggs uses a summative assessment developed with our teachers internationally. This process invites creativity and ensures that our students flourish academically.
Our curriculum programs for elementary school, middle school, and high school are interactive in their approach allowing students to be seekers of knowledge, affirmers of values and changers of the world.
The Griggs High School Diploma follows the internationally renowned academic credit system of Carnegie Units. This cumulative system offers diploma students a greater chance of success as compared to terminal exams. Our partner schools offer excellent GIA approved courses that fulfil the US High School diploma requirements. It is a four-year program, and classes are taught in English; however, ESL classes can be offered for non-academic credit. Students complete 25 Units for a College Preparatory Diploma or 21 Units for a Standard High School Diploma. Students take courses in Math, Science, English, History, Languages, Technology, Business, Fine Arts, Health, Character Development and electives. Students also complete 20 hours of community service per year to embed the GIA values of dignity, honor, respect and integrity.
Further information can be found in our High School Brochure .
Our interactive middle school curriculum based on the Maryland Common Core Standards is linguistic and academic in nature to build the confidence of young learners whilst introducing them to a variety of cultural themes. All classes are taught in English except for language classes. The GIA method is designed to encourage the natural inquisitive nature of young people on their journeys of academic discovery. The middle school program builds on the foundation students built in elementary school and will give them all the skills and values needed to be successful in high school.
