With the Griggs’ accreditation, international schools can offer American diplomas and certificates to students that fulfill the Griggs’ requirements. The programs can be designed to fit the needs of a particular school. As well as the full curriculum High School Program, Griggs offers affiliates opportunities to run a Top Up Program / Dual Diploma Program. In these programs, we have combined multidisciplinary English language lessons and STEAM to develop academic language learning. In conjunction with first language instruction, non-English-speaking students receive core curriculum instruction along with English language lessons.

High School (grades 10-12)

This program is similar to the High School Program, however, students continue to work on the local national curriculum, or curricula of other countries, while pursuing the Griggs diploma at the same time. The student’s previous and current coursework will be compared to the Griggs' requirements in order to assess what Griggs courses need to be completed to receive the Griggs (American) high school diploma in addition to the one from the registered school that the student is attending. The student is required to take at least 5 units (credits) that are Griggs approved in order to receive the Griggs diploma. Schools choose this type of Top Up Program to help prepare students for attending an American or other international university.

Middle School Program (grades 7-9)

Our partner schools offer a GIA approved middle school course with a focus on academic English and interdisciplinary study. The course offered is adaptable to students’ English language levels and is undertaken alongside their Chinese curriculum ultimately leading to a US/Chinese dual diploma in middle school. The middle school program is primarily used for developing students’ academic English language ability to study full-time for our GIA US College Preparatory Diploma or Standard Diploma.

Elementary School (grades 1-6)

Our partner schools offer a GIA approved elementary school course with a focus on academic English and interdisciplinary study. The course offered is adaptable to students’ English language levels and is undertaken alongside their Chinese curriculum. The elementary school program is primarily used for developing students’ English language ability and to deepen their global education experience.

Kindergarten

Our partner schools offer a GIA approved kindergarten school course with a focus on interdisciplinary learning in English from when they first enter school. The course offered is adaptable to students’ English language levels and is undertaken alongside their Chinese curriculum. The kindergarten program is primarily used for developing students’ English language ability early to offer a global education to students at the start of their educational experience.
