On June 25th ZWIE World Academy's (ZWA) 2024 Graduation Ceremony was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou.
Griggs International Academy was invited to participate in the ceremony as the provider of ZWA’s American High School Program. Mr. Harry Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Griggs China, and Ms. Leila Qiu, Office Administrator, as representatives of Griggs International Academy, attended the event.
The atmosphere of the graduation ceremony was cheerful and exciting. The whole school, teachers, students, staff, parents and guests gathered to witness this sacred moment where our graduates drew an end to their high school life.
From the speeches of Principal Dr. Peggy Zhai and Vice Principal Teresa Yang, we deeply felt the love, encouragement and support from the principals and teachers to the students. The two principals still clearly remembered the appearance of each graduate when they first entered the school. They used to be shy, immature and naughty, but now they have all transformed into mature, responsible and brave young people who are able to work effortlessly for their own dreams.
Mr. Robert Archbald, GIA Program Coordinator, as the teacher representative, shared a piece of life advice to the graduates, that to be a person you wish to be is entirely up to yourself, and he hoped that the graduates would respect others and take good care of themselves in the future.
From the speeches of the two graduate representatives, Jason and Jimmy, we deeply felt their gratitude to their teachers, their reluctance to part with their classmates, their affection for their high school life and their gratitude to their parents. They can't grow so well without the support of their teachers, parents and the school, but even more so without their own efforts.
From the speech of Mr. Liao, the parent representative, we heard their acknowledgement and thanks to the teachers and the school; the parents were deeply proud of the changes and growth of their children and their achievements.
What is more surprising is that both the teachers at school and the teachers that could not be present as they were in other cities or abroad, had specially recorded humorous videos to send their sincere blessings to the graduates. Kudos to the loving and talented teachers!
Mr. Harry Lee, representative of Griggs International Academy also sent warm wishes to the graduates.
Distinguished guests, Dear Graduates, Teachers and Parents:Good Morning!
I am Harry Lee, coming from Griggs International Academy. It is my great honor to participate in this Graduation Ceremony. This is an exciting moment, congratulations!
Graduation from high school is a critical start point for your next destination, higher education in university. Are you excited? Perhaps a bit nervous? Embrace the excitement, as your university experience will further solidify the foundation for your career. Do not be anxious; you have been well-prepared here at ZWA.
As a GIA high school graduate, you must have practiced the key values of Dignity, Honor, Respect and Integrity. Please carry these values with you into your university life. Your behavior and performance will reflect who you are. Strive to present the best version of yourself, and you will earn the respect and honor you deserve.
Graduates, aim higher. Studies have shown that success in the modern world is more attainable than you might think. It is unnecessarily linked to exhausting one’s muscles and starving one’s body, as long as you are interested in a field and persistently stick with it, success will follow.
I look forward to hearing your success stories in the near future.
Once again, congratulations!
Good luck!
