Double Excellence Program

First, the coaches guided us to do some warm-up exercises to be ready for the sport. Then, they explained and demonstrated the rowing moves on a rowing machine and asked us to practice for a while. Later, they instructed us on how to carry a boat to the pier, how to balance a boat on water with oars, how to move the oars, and how to get off a boat after docking. They explained patiently and clearly and guided us to practice step by step. We were very nervous at the beginning since it was the first time for us to try this sport. However, we got familiar with it quickly and began to enjoy it.

One, two, one, two.... With the sonorous beat from the coach, all students pushed and pulled the oars together. With each beat, the boat advanced a great deal. As time went by, our moves became more united, and the boat picked up its speed. I knew that to do better, the team had to spend lots of time training together. Teamwork is very important. Through this course, I think I learned how to do rowing. Sitting on the boat and enjoying its speed and the beautiful scenery around was so relaxing.

Finally, we got the boat back to the pier and helped our coaches put the boat back on the rack: to carry the mission through to the end.

Our school has Music Double Excellence program, which contains two main types of learning.

The first is the study of musical instruments and vocal music. Students can choose to learn 2-3 musical instruments and vocal music. After one semester, our music teachers will guide us to pass the various levels of Rock School assessment according to our abilities.

The second is the study of music production and creation. Firstly, we learned how to use one music app in the Mac system to create our own music, which was quite an interesting experience. We can learn music terms, music editing, composition, recording and so on.

Students with zero foundation can learn basic music theories and begin to have a professional understanding of music. Students with music foundation can learn more deeply and systematically, express their own ideas about music, and create their own music.

I believe that our music teachers, patient and creative, can make us feel the infinite charm and fun of music by encouraging us to create our own music.

In the fine art class, Ms. Yan gave each of us one piece of blank paper and various paints. She introduced what we needed to do in fluent English. While explaining, she was also drawing on the paper to demonstrate the techniques for us. Following the instructions, I picked up a color pen and began to sketch on my paper: a butterfly and several flowers came into being on my paper so vividly. This class made me feel the charm of art and the magic of pens and paints.

After guiding us to do some warm-up exercises, our coach explained some basic golfing theories for us, and demonstrated the usage of different clubs step by step. Then, we began to practice, and the coach gave us one-on-one instructions in turn. We swung our clubs and then experienced the joy of success.

This course initiated us into golfing and made us feel the fun of this sport.
