The Rise Up Program enters its second year. Once again, we had some fantastic entries for this semester’s Rise Up for Performing Arts awards. Students have made great leaps in improving their filming and editing skills, and we saw some fantastic special effects. Axis International School, our partner in Japan, presented an excellent drama on the Underground Railway, using the power of green screen. Sole entries from Zhongshan Whampoa World College and Heifei Ivy Experimental Academy were very different with the former involving an interpretation of the movie Venom and the latter an original dance. However, Kunshan International School had a clean sweep at the awards, taking first, second, and third prize! They set up this year’s RUPA awards as part of their Film Studies course and produced not only heartfelt films, but also professional productions. Thank you to all students who took part in the RUPA awards and congratulations to the winners.
